Day 28: Favorite game developer

Before you read ahead go and watch THIS
Seriously, go and watch the Link - It’s only 1:36 and explains most of it

Then after you have watched that go and read these short paragrpahs of the top 100 game makers.
Seriously, the game makers link

For those that checked out my 2 linked suggestions there should be nothing left to say. For everyone else that didn’t look and are still with me at this point…

Nintendo IS THE benchmark in a Game Development company. I don’t care what new company is around that has 1 or 2 good games/series under their belt that has spanned 10 years.

Nintendo = Leading the world in Game Making for 30 Years
Nintendo = Being established as a positive company since 1889
Nintendo = Leading developer franchise of Mario at over 700 million sales (Pokemon - a Nintendo production behind at 220 million with next closest game Nintendo has nothing to do with as The Sims, 150 million)

Nintendo has Shigeru Miyamoto - probably the only reason anyone at all is playing video games these days.

The next closest Developer is Capcom
Capcom have been involved with a greater diversity of games with quality but it’s kinda hard to go against the home of Mario and Zelda

My 30 Day Video Game Challenge is getting to it’s end. Tomorrow is a game I didn’t think I would like and ended up loving - yep got a game in mind already. Lastly the big one. Favourite Game of All Time. It will be hard to name just 1 but I will see what it is

Some awesome Zelda art by

HeavyMetalHanzo

I highly recommend checking his other stuff out at Deviant Art

Going through my MASSIVE amount of gaming pictures that I have accrued in the last couple of years. Decided it was time to sort some stuff out.

For the moment I have my gaming pictures sorted into Zelda, Mario, Mega Man or Collections. Everything else is just as is for the moment.

While sorting my Zelda pictures I found quite a lot of really good artworks, most found here on Tumblr so thought I would post some up.

Maps are always a good place to start so here are just the maps I had in my picture collections. I don’t know where any of these are from except for the first one. It is a combination print that is available here

More pictures will be coming as I organise what I have nad find interesting things that need to be shared.

Adventures of Link Story

My Day 24: Favourite Classic Video Game

Day 24: Favorite classic game

I am going to confine my interpretation of the Classic Game as any game from my first system the NES. With that in mind here is my latest entry on the 30 Day Video Game Challenge

This was the first Legend of Zelda game I owned and I used to play it almost every day when I was 6. Never beat it though until I discovered emulators, roms and save states when I was much older.

Some great music of the series by OC Remix

One of the misunderstood Legend of Zelda Games. This game got some bad reviews and is considered one of the worst in the series. I on the other hand love it. The storytelling that went into this game was epic for it’s time and it really established the Zelda legend. If you don’t know what I mean, check this picture set out.

This was a hard pick with so many classic games so I will mention a few just from the NES that were considered. There were also plenty more across other systems that could have easily won.
Mega Man 2 - check it out, it’s awesome
Mega Man 3 -
Super Mario Bros 3
Tenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The Legend of Zelda

Day 20: Favorite genre

I’m going to cheat a bit with this pick in my 30 Day Video Game Challenge and go with

Action/Adventure - the generic game type.

Obviously I’m a huge Legend of Zelda fan (bought a collectors edition Hyrule Historia the other day - pics will be put up). The Legend of Zelda legitimately wrote the book on the Action/Adventure genre. If I was specifically sticking to a narrow interpretation of a Genre than anything that is plays like the Legend of Zelda series is my favourite.
 - Legend of Zelda - NES
 - Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time - N64
 - Legend of Zelda Wii U - Wii U
 - Okami - Wii
 - Shadowman - Nintendo 64

Any genre though has many different tweaks/additions/subtractions/interpretations as it evolves over time so I have included some other games that have RPG and Sandbox exploration elements, essentially it is the exploration and story I like in games. Series like Monster Hunter, Grand Theft Auto and the Elder Scrolls fit my gaming preferences nicely.

In the future I am looking to see Watch Dogs and The Last of Us as good additions to the Action/Adventure (/ RPG / Sandbox / Shooter…) genre.

It has been over a week since I was at the Sydney Opera House but I had been too busy to put the pictures on. Above, the nice ‘cloaking’ sign and also where I was sitting.

It was an awesome night and I would definitely go again if given the chance.

Symphony of the Goddesses

HOLLY CRAP THAT WAS GOOD.

The intro was the best thing I have EVER SEEN…. E V E R   S E E N!

The music was amazing! The gameplay footage and visuals that went along were awesome.

Watching the Legend of Zelda Symphony of the Goddesses has been the best musical and gaming experience I have ever had.

Must now go and play ALL THE ZELDA GAMES.

Going to watch this tomorrow night. It’s gonna be awesome
