Day 24: Favorite classic game

I am going to confine my interpretation of the Classic Game as any game from my first system the NES. With that in mind here is my latest entry on the 30 Day Video Game Challenge

This was the first Legend of Zelda game I owned and I used to play it almost every day when I was 6. Never beat it though until I discovered emulators, roms and save states when I was much older.

One of the misunderstood Legend of Zelda Games. This game got some bad reviews and is considered one of the worst in the series. I on the other hand love it. The storytelling that went into this game was epic for it’s time and it really established the Zelda legend. If you don’t know what I mean, check this picture set out.

This was a hard pick with so many classic games so I will mention a few just from the NES that were considered. There were also plenty more across other systems that could have easily won.

Day 18: Favorite protaganist

This should be a simple enough answer. As my Day 2: Favorite video game character is a protagonist the answer for this is Link.

Since that is too simple my Day 2 post also had my second favourite character, a protagonist, meaning my choice should be Mega Man.

Since my favourite ANTaganist was Bowser I’m going to even it up and go with Mario as my (3rd) favourite PROtaganist. After all he has been involved in some epic adventures of his own and does deserve a spot on this list…..

Think, think, think. Who haven’t I used…

Stuff it lets just go with

Michael Le Roi/ Shadowman.

Why - Because he can’t die, has a kick ass attitude to all things evil, walks on fire, swims in lava and generally kicks ass and takes names in deadside.

Thats Why

BUT

Link would be my first choice Because he is so epicly awesome even without speaking

DAY 1: First video game
Day 2: Favorite video game character

For my favourite character I instantly had 2 names come to mind but then thought of some others, like Mario, Yoshi, Bowser. Yeah, most of my lists will involve Nintendo themes because that has been my main system of choice.

The character I think that would come in second would be:

I chose this picture especially because it represents more of why Link would be my favourite character, even though he doesn’t talk.

I have played and still own every console LoZ (haven’t beaten SS though, it’s probably my least favourite). Link represents all that is good about games. Exploration, story-telling, escapism… From a character point of view he has also had heaps of different styles throughout the games. AND gets some of the most outrageous powers, weapons, items all while sticking to a trusty sword and shield.

The fact that the character has been established over 25+ years in one of the worlds leading franchises should be enough to make Link a favourite character for almost any gamer.
