A new vending machine has been released which can print any book within minutes.

The Espresso Book Machine has access to 500,000 different books - the same as 23.6 miles of shelf space - and can even churn out a fresh copy of Crime and Punishment in just nine minutes.

Pages are printed at a rate of over 100 per minute and are then pressed, glued and cut to produce a pristine book.

Users simply pick the book they would like on a screen and wait for it to be printed … it certainly is a novel way of getting a new book.

I have just tried to mark a bunch if work that has piled up because of reports pushing everything to the side. I was planning on getting through a bunch of worksheets and some bookwork done before nicely organising it into files and recording my evidence.

This is for my year 1/year 2 class

Sheet set one - done today. Basic number activity describing a 2 digit number in by tens/ones, count on, before/after, words/numerals etc. We have done it almost everyday for the last 3 weeks.

I look at the first one… unfinished despite lots of pretty colours and a picture around the ‘twenty-six’ written. I move on. Next one is neat and tidy and finished. I mark it happily and find there is no name so I cant file it or record it in any way. Put it on a pile to work out for later. After this it gets worse.

I decide that any with no names are crumpled and thrown at the bin, leaving a mess on the floor. Unfinished ones get a nice little reminder and the students can do it AS WELL as tomorrows number card.

I am finished the first set of sheets with only half the class completing their work in any meaningful way, 4 others with extra work to do and the rest with their work a crumpled pile on the floor.

All the other marking can go and get fucked because Its probably the same and its not like I havent GONE OVER NAMES ON SHEETS a million times. I have the class repeat it back to me, I have them physically put their finger where the name IS written - not where it is GOING to be written. And still no names.

At least it is better than their bookwork where I have to constantly write, in BIG RED LETTERS

STOP DO NOT GO PAST THIS PAGE!!! GO BACK AND USE YOUR PAGES!!!

because some of them are well over half way through a book spacing out work that could fit on the first 4 pages without even being messy.

But they did better in PE today and we had fun.

30 Day Video Game Challenge- Day 23- Game You Think Had the Best Graphic or Art Style

Answer: Muramasa: The Demon Blade (Wii)
Very Close Runner-up: Okami (PS2, Wii)

This was a tough decision for me, but in the end, Muramasa won out. I really enjoyed playing this game for many reasons. I think that the fact that they made it a 2D side-scroller was a really interesting choice considering the gaming market today. The designs were impeccable and flawless, with many creatures adding new twists to classic Japanese lore.

I couldn’t get over the fact that when you bought food, you actually got to step through the eating. You get a nice, beautiful plate of octopus dumplings and get to tap your way through a few phases of the meal with A. I thought it was neat. Made me hunger for Japanese food. XD

But yes, and Okami is kind of self-explanatory. While many people play Japanese games, not many actually see the influence of the culture. Okami was a way to incorporate Japanese myth and legend into a /very/ well-animated and designed world. I love it just as much as Muramasa. That’s why it was so hard to choose.
